More choice for City of Whittlesea families with new and upgraded Kinders

City of Whittlesea parents and carers now have even more early childhood education and care (ECEC) options to choose from, with Council opening three new and upgraded kindergartens for the start of Term 1, 2022.

McLeans Road Kindergarten in Bundoora, Kirrip Kindergarten in Wollert and Eucalyptus Parade Kindergarten in Donnybrook have collectively welcomed over 240 eager learners to the newly opened centres, supporting the increased demand for early childhood education services in the area.

“As we welcome a growing number of families to the City of Whittlesea each year, Council is focused on providing local facilities and programs that help children strengthen their physical, social and emotional wellbeing,” said City of Whittlesea Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson.

The newest additions to Council’s extensive kindergarten network provide engaging three and four-year-old programs that create a foundation for a lifelong love of learning, and the Council are “delighted to provide safe and inclusive spaces for children to build their confidence and gain the skills they need for a smooth transition to primary school.”

To support families to explore their local kindergartens a Kindergarten Open Night will be held on 24 February 2022, from 5.30pm – 7.30pm, giving a wonderful opportunity for children, parents, and carers to explore nearby kindergartens, speak to the teachers and discuss the quality programs on offer at kindergartens throughout the City of Whittlesea.

Applications are now open for both three-year-old kindergarten in 2023 and four-year-old kindergarten in 2024. Places are also still available for both three and four-year-old kindergarten in 2022.

McLeans Road Kindergarten and Kirrip Kindergarten were delivered with the support of the Victorian Government. Eucalyptus Parade Kindergarten was delivered in partnership with the Victorian Government and Hume Anglican Grammar.
