2019 ACAV Conference offers an inspiring program for service providers and educators

With only three weeks to go until the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) Victoria’s Excellence in ECEC Conference, ACA Victoria President Paul Mondo says the wheels are in motion to make this year’s event a truly memorable experience.

“We’ve hand-picked a really sensational group of presenters, designed to inspire and educate delegates whilst having some light-hearted fun, whether at the services management or educator level,” Mr Mondo said.

“This year we have divided the program into three streams – Leadership and Management, Program & Practice and General Workshops, making it easy for our delegates to attend the sessions most relevant to their needs.”

Mr Mondo is particularly excited about keynote speaker Craig Harper, whose podcasts he has been listening to for many years.

Mr Harper is one of Australia’s leading motivational speakers, specialising in the areas of health, personal transformation, high-performance, resilience and leadership. At the conference he will share his insights into what it means to be a high-performer, how we can turn our goals and dreams (theoretical ‘somethings’) into actual results (real-world ‘somethings’) and the importance of paying attention to all areas of life to reach your full potential.

Mr Mondo says he hopes this year’s delegates get as much out of their experience with Craig at the conference as he has over the years. “He really is an inspiration and knows how to encourage people to get the best out of themselves.”

Recent additions to the program include two sessions which build on the content for our Leadership and Management stream.

These include a panel discussion focussed on Nurturing your early learning business in the current market, presented by Adam Thomas, Director Burgess Rawson, Natalie Couper, Childcare Specialist, Burgess Rawson, and Jason Roberts, Founder and CEO of digital news platform The Sector.

The panel, moderated by Sam Rosenberg of Buddies ELC, will discuss the highs and lows of the early learning sector over the past few years and look into their crystal ball to consider what might be ahead. They will also address the importance of nurturing your business, particularly in times of change with a view to optimising performance.

ACA Vice President Nesha Hutchinson will also present a session titled No Stress OH&S: Mental health hacks for small business, which focuses on the lessons learned by large corporations in meeting their team’s mental health needs and provides practical solutions for service providers and support staff.

Delegates don’t need to choose the sessions they’d like to attend when booking tickets – they can decide on the day.

With over 35 exhibitors, the conference also provides a great opportunity for early learning service providers and key staff to talk directly to key suppliers in the sector and take advantage of a range of exclusive discounts offered to conference delegates.

A major event in the early learning calendar, the ACA Victoria annual conference will be held at Crown Conference Centre, Melbourne on 16 Friday and 17 Saturday August 2019.
