Grafton preschool awarded Start Strong grant
The Gummyaney Aboriginal Pre-School, located in Grafton, northern New South Wales, has been awarded a $78,000 ‘Start Strong’ grant from the NSW Department of Education to improve its facilities.
According to local news source, the Clarence Valley Independent, the grant will be used to build an outdoor bathroom to ensure children have ease of access when playing outside.
The NSW Government’s Start Strong program began in 2016 in a bid to lower fees for community preschools and some long day care services to ensure that children had an opportunity to access 600 hours of early childhood education in the year before school.
